Confession time: I am a sucker for all things 1950’s fashion.
Ok. This isn’t the most scandalous confession ever but it is nonetheless true. The styles from the era are timeless and classy. Are you with me? I will take any occasion I can get to play Grace Kelly.
Ladies I have found the perfect dress for a date a romantic fancy restaurant, a night of swing dancing, or for the more daring bride-to-be a blush bridal dress.
Light Pink Lace Dress
I got this gorgeous lace dress with a sweetheart neckline in a dreamy blush shade (although it comes in a few colors and sleeve designs as well). It has a light pink lining and cream lace overlay.
What I especially love about this dress is the skirt is full! I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a dress that has a beautiful full skirt in the photos but then when it arrives it seems sadly deflated. I forgot to read the fine print and if I wanted it to look as advertised I would need to buy a petticoat! Not this one. I am wearing it as it came and you can see how full the skirt is.
The lace is just gorgeous and not overly delicate although I would still handle with care.
I think the big thing is to make sure you have a good strapless bra!
Blush Heels
I paired the dress with some gorgeous Halogen Blush Heels that I got on clearance. They are unfortunately out of stock but here is a similar style.
I love this color! It goes with so much and I always get compliments when I wear them. Plus, they are super comfy. I also love the pointed toe. I am a shorty and I learned long ago from “What Not to Wear” that pointy toe shoes are perfect for elongating the leg!
