I have become a bit a false eyelash junkie as of late.
It wasn’t until I hit 30 that I discovered the wonder that is falsies. When I was younger I just don’t remember them being a “thing” in high school and college. If people were using them they weren’t telling me!
As I’ve gotten into fashion blogging I’ve noticed that eyelashes will either look spidery and gross on film or they will completely disappear. Not good. So I’ve begun to look into options to beautify my lashes.
Lash extensions look amazing but seem pricey and high maintenance.
The natural choice for me to turn to has been good old fashioned false eyelashes and I am on the hunt for the perfect set!
KISS Lash Couture in Boudoir
I’ve tried lashes in the Kiss and Ardell lines before and wasn’t terribly impressed. They just didn’t have enough oomph. And I think that appeals to a lot of people who want a very natural look. Not me. I want my lashes to POP!
Browsing through the makeup section at WalMart these Kiss Lash Couture Lashes in Boudoir caught my eye. They seemed to have A LOT more volume than the standard Kiss offerings so I thought “what the heck! Lets give ’em a try.”
What Kiss Couture Boudoir Lashes Look Like
Trying these lashes on their strength lies in adding tons of volume! They do add some length but don’t look terribly long on, just very thick and lush.
One thing to note is that the band is quite thick. I don’t mind that but I know that can be a deal breaker for some.
Another thing to note is that they do not come with any lash glue so you will need to be sure to have some on hand.
The box says that they last for 10 wears and I find that to be true. If I am careful I can easily stretch that out to 12 or so.
Overall I really liked these lashes. I love that they are a reasonable $6 and can be found easily at local stores. I don’t know if they are my perfect lash but they are natural enough to be worn regularly but also add enough drama as to not disappear.
KISS Lash Couture Gala
As I really enjoyed the Boudoir Lashes I decided to give another set of lashes from the Couture line a try — Gala. I had seen a youtuber wearing them and she looked amazing so I hopped online to order some.
Even though these looked incredible on the other gal on youtube I don’t think this set are for me. Perhaps it just comes down to eyeshape and facial structure but they just were overpowering. I do have a kind of smaller face being a petite woman so they just didn’t work.
The band was also thinner on these and didn’t last as long as the Boudoir.
What do you think? Boudoir vs Gala? What are your favorite falsies? Let me know, I’d love to hear and remember to subscribe for more content like this.
